Greenbriar Craft Retreat

Here are a few photos of our craft retreat at Greenbriar.
It took 3 people to make the curtains for my craft room and here is the results. Aren't they cute? Notice the zipper detail. We went to two wal-marts to find the zippers. I don't think you can see the zippers here. I'll look for a closer photo for another post.
Judy, above, is so great about sharing her recipes with us. We had a cooking lesson on how to make stuffed pork with apples, cranberries, onions, etc.. All of her meals are delicious and freshly handmade.
Traci, above, worked on this Easter basket all weekend. It turned out soooo cute. I want to make one too!
Here is one of the make and takes I offered. We used crystal effects and the 1 inch square punch to fit into the jewelry plate. Oh, and did I mention I designed the images in My Digital Studio. Have you downloaded your 30 day FREE trial yet? You can find these jewelry blanks here.
We pulled out a deck of cards and played Shanghai.
Above is my G.G. She's wrapped up in a heated sock I made. Have you made one of these. They are wonderful and soooo easy! I'll post the directions in the near future.

So, what do you think about the retreat? What would you do if you attended? We had scrappers, card makers, crafters, sewing, and more! Too much fun!

Crazy Cool Chair, You decide!

I had a very therapeutic Saturday. There are not many Saturdays that I get to play and have no schedule. It was wonderful! I just let my creative juices flow!
As seen below this chair was sad. Don't get me wrong...it's a fabulous chair. It just needed to come to life. Peggy, the scrap lady, gave it to me as she thought either myself or my customers could use it when crafting. I'm so glad she thought of me!
So it started like this and envolved from a fun scrap pieced cushion to one crazy chair!
Here is Paisley posing on the chair. I'm dying to hear what you think about it!? I basically tore fabric strips and wrapped them around the chair legs and back, tied knots, and added a few ribbons from my scrap jar.
Leave a comment to let me know if I'm crazy or cool....LOL!

Flower Embellishments

Many of you know my obsession with the Big Shot and flowers. I especially love making them using hand dyed wool. Of course you can make them using all kinds of fabrics such as felt, fun foam, cotton, leather, and soooo much more...

These are items that I've created to sell in my Etsy shop. PLEASE Visit my shop here and favorite your items! That would be great to get the exposure. You'll see lots more samples there too. It would be super sweet if you facebook, pin or tweet any of the items too!

Now, I'm going to encourage you to make your own flowers below!

I have mixed several of our Stampin' up big shot dies to make these. My favorites are the following:
Price: $17.95

You can find premade cases at your local craft store to add the flowers to.

Steps for making flower embellishments:
1. Cut random shapes using random fabrics.
2. Layer shapes together by size.
3. Add button and hand sew them together using embroidery floss.
4. Now sew them to your case. I've made jewelry pouches, sunglass holders that can double as a wallet, purses, ipad cover and more.

These would be great gifts or sell them as a way to pay for the dies:). You can purchase any of these dies from my website here. Just be sure to save the item codes above and type them in the seach box.

This is the best time to buy during Sale-a-bration! For every $50 purchase you get a free gift! View the saleabration catalog in the top left corner of my blog. Happy Shopping!
